About Judge Frulla

I’m Chris Frulla — a lifelong Memphian, husband, father, and dedicated attorney. I was born and raised here in Memphis, attending Grahamwood Elementary, White Station Middle, and White Station High School. My roots in this community run deep, from earning my Eagle Scout rank as a youth to raising my own family here today.

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the College of Charleston, I returned home to attend the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis, where I graduated cum laude and served on the Law Review. From 2012 until my appointment to the bench, I practiced law at Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, PLC, focusing on serving clients with integrity, diligence, and a commitment to excellence. I was appointed to the Circuit Court by Governor Bill Lee in August of 2025.

Along the way, I’ve been honored as the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association’s Defense Lawyer of the Year (2022-2023), named a Mid-South Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for eight consecutive years, and inducted as a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation. I’ve also held leadership roles in professional organizations and served on community boards.

Outside the courtroom, my greatest joy is spending time with my wife and our two children. We are active members of the Church of the Holy Communion and enjoy the outdoors, whether fishing, attending sporting events, competing in barbecue contests, or simply cooking together at home.

For me, being a judge is about more than just handling cases — it’s about making a meaningful difference for the citizens of Shelby County and the community I love.
